About
Hello my friend and welcome to my personal website!
My name is Luca and I'm a software developer with a strong passion for 3D and computer graphics.
I live in a small town near Turin in Italy.
My passion for computer graphics started in 1998 when I saw a trailer on TV for a PS1 game called Final Fantasy VIII.
At that time my main passion was music (I was and still am a metal head and the guitar is my weapon of choice) but after seeing that trailer everything changed.
At that time the Internet ran on 56k modem and there weren't all the tutorials that you can find now, but I was motivated and I've started learning programming first in Java and then in C++ which is still my favorite programming language.
Around 2001 I was able to put my hands on my first 3D software (Lightwave 7.5) and I've started modeling, UV mapping and rendering (later I switched to Maya starting from version 7.0).
Recently I've started learning 3D sculpting using ZBrush and I love it!
My career as a programmer started in 2008 when I was hired by SPEA, an important company that develops software to test electronic equipment (from the Nintendo WiiMote to the new iPhones).
In 2012 my passion for 3D drove me to send a resume to Virtual Reality & Multimedia Park and luckily enough I've become part of their ASALab Team.
There I've worked as a C++ and JNI developer on their custom 3D previsualization tool.
In 2013 I was hired by TODO Design Studio, one of the most renowned interaction design studio in Italy where I am still employed to these days.
Here at TODO I develop on many different things, from mobile applications to desktop applications and even web applications most of which have 3D contents and I'm also a 3D artist, modeling/uv mapping/texturing and rendering for exhibitions and advertising.
